Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also boost its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as eth titans aren't affected in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players must select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the necessary material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be placed in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. In the case of upgrades to gather tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the Item Upgrader Mod will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

Once an item has been finished being leveled, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item upgrader at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not attain its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a structure, engineers will use an instrument to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential element of the game, and it can boost an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. You can do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be used in the rarest of circumstances.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to obtain reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original Best item upgrade or another similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be a good or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could come with a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also features several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Sets

Sets of armor that offer high defense or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to the level of the tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
